The M.A. FORD 79100002T is a single-end countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in a wide range of materials. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a straight-cylindrical shank, it delivers consistent performance across metalworking and fabrication applications. The 82-degree included angle suits standard fastener head profiles. With 6 flutes, the tool produces a smooth finish and evacuates chips efficiently, making it a reliable choice for production and maintenance work. The 1/2-inch shank diameter fits common drill press and CNC machine collets, while the 2.75-inch overall length provides adequate reach for most countersinking tasks.
This countersink is suited for use in job shops, maintenance facilities, and fabrication environments where operators need a versatile tool capable of working across multiple material types. Compatible materials include alloy steel, mild steel, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, Monel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. It handles both spot-facing and deburring tasks on drilled holes, making it practical for machinists and tool-and-die trades working on mixed-material assemblies.
Designed as a modified-standard countersink compatible with alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by machinists and tool operators using a drill press, mill, or CNC machine fitted with a collet or chuck sized for the 1/2-inch shank. Secure the shank fully before operation and confirm the spindle speed is appropriate for the workpiece material to prevent overheating or premature wear. Power down the machine and lock out the spindle before changing or inspecting the tool. Do not use this tool in hand-held drilling applications where tool control cannot be maintained.
