The M.A. FORD. 79062503 is a 6-flute, single-end countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in metalworking and fabrication environments. Machined from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers consistent cutting performance across a wide range of materials. The tool features a 90-degree included angle and a 45-degree centerline angle, making it well-suited for standard countersunk fastener seat preparation. With a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank and an overall length of 2.25 inches, it mounts directly in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Right-hand cutting direction. No pilot included. Installed by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and maintenance technicians.
This countersink is intended for use on a broad range of workpiece materials including mild steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, cast iron, brass, aluminum, magnesium, magnesium alloy, Monel, and plastic. It is suited for both manual drill press setups and CNC machining center applications where a 3/8-inch shank toolholder is available. Typical applications include preparing countersunk holes for flat-head fasteners, chamfering drilled hole edges, and removing burrs on machined parts in production or repair environments.
Designed for use on alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces. Fits any toolholder accepting a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a drill press, milling machine, or CNC machining center equipped with a 3/8-inch chuck or collet. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped and the spindle is fully stopped before changing or seating the tool. Verify shank seating depth and runout before beginning a cut. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds based on workpiece material.
