The M.A. FORD 79025006 is a single-end, 6-flute countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations across a wide range of materials. Manufactured from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it features a 120-degree included angle and a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 0.25 inches in diameter. Overall length is 2 inches, making it a compact, easy-to-control tool for bench work and machine operations alike. The 6-flute geometry promotes smooth cutting action and reduces chatter compared to fewer-flute designs. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for use with conventional clockwise-rotating spindles. This tool is suitable for machinist, fabrication, and maintenance professionals working in shop or field environments.
This countersink is well suited for general-purpose metalworking, fabrication shops, and maintenance applications requiring consistent chamfer quality. It performs on a broad spectrum of materials including mild steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, and plastic. The 0.25-inch shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders, making it compatible with drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld electric drills.
Designed for use on alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel. Fits any drill chuck or collet system accepting a 0.25-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This countersink is installed by securing the 0.25-inch shank in a compatible drill chuck or collet to the recommended clamping depth before use. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing or adjusting tooling. Use appropriate cutting fluid for ferrous materials to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Ensure workpiece is securely fixtured before engaging the cutter to prevent movement and uneven chamfer depth.
