The M.A. FORD 78075002 is a solid carbide countersink designed for precision chamfering, countersinking, and deburring across a wide range of materials. It features a 3/4 inch head diameter, an 82-degree included angle, and 6 flutes for smooth, efficient cutting. The 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill press and milling machine chucks. At 2-3/4 inches overall length, this tool balances reach and rigidity. Licensed machinists, toolroom operators, and production shop technicians are the primary users. The carbide construction handles harder workpiece materials with less wear than high speed steel alternatives.
This countersink is suited for use on alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. It is appropriate for both manual machine setups and CNC applications where a consistent 82-degree seat angle is required, such as flat-head fastener preparation and edge chamfering. The single-end, no-pilot design allows the operator to position the tool freely without a fixed center guide.
Designed for use in drill presses, milling machines, and CNC machining centers equipped with a 1/2 inch collet or chuck. Suitable for chamfering and countersinking operations on alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, and plastic workpieces.
Install the 1/2 inch shank into a clean, dry collet or drill chuck and tighten securely before operation. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing or adjusting the tool. Set spindle speed according to the workpiece material and manufacturer cutting data for solid carbide tooling. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide is brittle and can fracture if run in a worn or improperly supported setup.
