The M.A. FORD. 78075001 is a solid carbide countersink designed for precision chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in metal and plastic workpieces. The tool features a 60-degree included angle, 6-flute geometry, and right-hand cutting direction, delivering clean, consistent results in production and job-shop environments. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.5 inches in diameter, and the overall length is 2.75 inches, making it compatible with standard drill press and milling machine setups. Manufactured with a high speed steel shank and solid carbide cutting head, it is built for durability across demanding material applications. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this tool.
This countersink is suited for use on alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, Monel, and plastic workpieces. It is appropriate for both residential shop and commercial machining environments where a single-end, no-pilot countersink with a 0.75-inch head diameter is required. The 6-flute design reduces chatter and produces a smoother finish compared to single- or double-flute alternatives, making it a preferred choice for finish chamfering on close-tolerance parts.
Designed as an OEM-style countersink for use with standard drill press, CNC machining center, and manual milling machine setups accepting a 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tool operators familiar with rotating cutting tools. Always secure the workpiece with appropriate clamping before engaging the spindle, and confirm the machine spindle is set to right-hand rotation before use. Power down and de-energize the machine before installing or removing the tool from the collet or chuck. Do not exceed the recommended speed and feed parameters for the workpiece material being machined.
