The M.A. FORD. 78050002A is a solid carbide countersink designed for precision chamfering, countersinking, and deburring across a wide range of materials. It features an 82-degree included angle and a 6-flute configuration that produces clean, chatter-free cuts at high feed rates. The 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders. With a minimum cutting diameter of 5/32 inches and a maximum cutting diameter of 29/64 inches, this tool handles a broad range of fastener seat sizes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or job-shop environments will find this countersink well suited to both manual and CNC applications.
This countersink is built for multi-material use. Rated for alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, cast iron, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic, it covers most materials encountered in general machining, aerospace prep work, and structural fabrication. The 82-degree angle matches the included angle of 82-degree flat-head fasteners commonly used in aerospace and sheet-metal applications. The 2-1/4-inch overall length provides adequate clearance in most fixturing setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application countersink for use in standard drill chucks and straight-bore collet holders accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter.
This tool is installed by machinists and fabricators in drill press, milling, or CNC spindle setups. Secure the shank firmly in a collet or chuck before operation and verify spindle speed is appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Do not exceed the tool's rated cutting diameter range, and avoid side-loading the flutes beyond the intended chamfering depth.
