The M.A. FORD. 67018702 is a single-end, zero-flute countersink made from high-speed steel for use in metal fabrication, machining, and assembly work. With an 82-degree included angle and a straight cylindrical shank measuring 3/16 inches in diameter, it handles chamfering, countersinking, and deburring tasks on a wide range of materials. The overall length is 1.5 inches, keeping the tool compact and easy to control in hand tools or bench-top drill presses. The bright, uncoated finish keeps cost low while maintaining adequate wear resistance for general-purpose shop use. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance mechanics are the primary users of this style of countersink.
This countersink is suited for light production and maintenance environments where consistent 82-degree countersink geometry is required. The zero-flute design uses a smooth, cone-shaped cutting surface that reduces chatter and produces clean, burr-free results on softer and medium-hardness materials. It is commonly used in fabrication shops, assembly lines, and field repair situations where a compact, no-pilot countersink is needed without complex setup. The 3/16-inch shank fits standard collets and drill chucks, making it compatible with a broad selection of handheld and benchtop drilling equipment.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink compatible with materials including alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel.
Install the 3/16-inch shank securely into a drill chuck or collet before use, and verify the chuck is fully tightened before operating. Power down and de-energize any machine tool before changing or seating this tool. Apply light, consistent feed pressure to avoid tool walking on the workpiece surface. No pilot is included, so center-punching or pre-drilling the workpiece is recommended for accurate countersink placement.
