The M.A. FORD. 61T062502 is a single-flute countersink designed for precision chamfering and countersinking operations in production and maintenance machining environments. Built from high-speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction during cutting. The 82-degree included angle is the standard for flat-head fastener seating across a wide range of materials. With a 5/8-inch maximum cutting diameter and a 1/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank, it mounts directly into standard drill chucks or collet holders without adapters. This tool is typically installed and operated by machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians working with drill presses, CNC machines, or handheld power tools.
This countersink is suited for use on a broad spectrum of materials including mild steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, and plastic. The single-flute design reduces chatter and produces clean, accurate countersink geometry, making it appropriate for precision fastener preparation in both production runs and repair applications. Right-hand cutting rotation is standard for conventional drill press and CNC spindle setups.
Designed for use with alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpiece materials. Fits any standard 1/4-inch drill chuck or collet holder.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolmakers. Secure the 1/4-inch shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet holder before operation and verify runout before cutting. Power down the spindle completely before changing or adjusting the tool. Cutting speed should be set appropriate to the workpiece material; consult published HSS cutting-speed tables for each material type.
