The M.A. FORD. 61062503 is a single-flute, high-speed steel countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations across a broad range of materials. It features a 90-degree included angle with a 45-degree centerline angle, a 5/8-inch head diameter, and a straight cylindrical 1/4-inch shank. The bright, uncoated finish is well suited for general-purpose shop use where additional coating is not required. At 2.25 inches overall length and 0.2 pounds, it is a compact, right-hand-cutting tool that installs directly into standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, or hand drills. Machinists, tool-and-die techs, and maintenance professionals reach for this countersink when a clean, consistent 90-degree seat is needed without the overhead of multi-flute tooling.
This countersink is appropriate for both production and maintenance applications on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It performs on alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. It is well suited to light deburring of drilled or punched holes and to chamfering operations on flat or lightly curved workpiece surfaces. Install into a drill press, hand drill, or machining center chuck rated for 1/4-inch shanks. Secure the shank fully and confirm the chuck or collet is tight before starting the spindle. Wear appropriate eye protection and secure the workpiece before operation. Inspect the cutting edge before each use and remove the tool from service if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
