The M.A. FORD 61025006 is a single-flute, high-speed steel countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations on a wide range of workpiece materials. It features a 120-degree included angle (60-degree centerline angle) and a bright, uncoated finish on a straight-cylindrical shank. The 1/4-inch shank diameter and 2-inch overall length make it suitable for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders found on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power tools. Machinists, toolmakers, and fabricators typically install and operate this tool during metal and material prep work where precise countersink geometry is required.
This countersink is suited for light-to-medium duty countersinking and deburring tasks in both production shop and job-shop environments. It handles a broad range of materials including mild steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. The single-flute design reduces chatter and produces a clean, consistent countersink seat. No pilot is included, making it a no-pilot straight-shank configuration for versatile setup.
Compatible with alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces. Fits any spindle or chuck accepting a 1/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
A licensed machinist or qualified fabricator should install and operate this tool following standard machine-shop safety practices. Secure the shank firmly in a collet, drill chuck, or tool holder before starting the spindle, and verify that the holding device is rated for the intended RPM. Power down and de-energize the machine completely before changing or inspecting the tool. Follow applicable shop safety codes and the machine manufacturer's guidelines for speeds and feeds when working with the target material.
