The M.A. FORD 60050002TIN is a single-flute solid carbide countersink with a TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating, designed for right-hand cutting at an 82-degree included angle. It handles countersinking, chamfering, and deburring operations across a wide range of materials. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.25 inches in diameter, and the tool runs 2.375 inches in overall length. Minimum cutting diameter is 0.0625 inches and maximum cutting diameter is 0.453 inches (29/64 inch). The TiN finish increases surface hardness and reduces friction, extending tool life in production and job-shop environments.
This countersink is suited for machine shop, metalworking, and fabrication applications where precise countersink geometry is required for fastener seating. The 82-degree angle is standard for flat-head machine screws common in aerospace and precision sheet metal work. Compatible material applications include alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals using CNC mills, drill presses, or hand-held power tools with appropriate collets or chucks.
Designed for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power tools accepting a 0.25-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for countersinking, chamfering, and deburring operations on alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces.
Install into a compatible chuck or collet rated for the 0.25-inch straight-cylindrical shank before powering the machine. Verify spindle speed against manufacturer recommendations for the workpiece material before starting the cut. Secure the workpiece firmly to prevent movement during countersinking. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when working with ferrous metals or stainless steel to manage heat and extend tool life.
