The M.A. FORD. 3MVR0468AH is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. It features a 3/64 inch (0.0468 inch) cutting diameter and a 9/64 inch (0.14 inch) length of cut, making it suited for fine-feature work in tight geometries. The variable helix geometry, running at 31 and 35 degrees, reduces chatter and harmonic vibration during the cut. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extends tool life in high-speed and dry cutting applications. This end mill is center-cutting, right-hand cut, and right-hand flute with a micrograin carbide substrate for edge toughness and wear resistance. It is installed and used by machinists and tool room technicians in CNC and manual milling operations.
This tool is intended for use in high-precision milling applications requiring a small-diameter, short-reach end mill. The 1/8 inch shank diameter makes it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders found on CNC machining centers and vertical mills. Its standard length classification and 1.5 inch overall length (OAL) suit it for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where heat generation is a concern. The AlTiN coating is particularly effective in harder workpiece materials and elevated cutting temperatures.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 1/8 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully and evenly in the collet to the recommended engagement depth to prevent runout. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
