The M.A. FORD. 30205200 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit designed for precision drilling in printed circuit board fabrication and related applications. The bit carries a wire gauge size of No. 55, translating to a cutting diameter of 0.0520 inches (1.32 mm). It features a 130-degree drill point angle and a fast spiral flute geometry with a 35-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and clean hole entry. The 1/8-inch (0.1250-inch decimal) straight shank is compatible with standard PCB drill chucks and CNC drilling spindles. This is a two-flute, right-hand cutting tool with a tapered web configuration and arrives uncoated.
This drill bit is suited for high-precision drilling operations in PCB manufacturing, prototype board work, and small-hole drilling in thin non-ferrous metals and engineering alloys. Material suitability includes cast iron, carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals. Designed as a Series 302 replacement-style solid carbide circuit board drill bit for use with 1/8-inch shank CNC PCB drilling machines, drill presses, and compatible toolholding chucks accepting a 0.1250-inch straight shank.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or PCB fabrication technicians familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully and concentrically in the chuck before operation to prevent runout, which can cause bit breakage at this diameter. Solid carbide bits are brittle — avoid lateral loading or impact. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate settings are appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter before engaging the cut.
