The M.A. FORD. 30203600 is a solid carbide micro drill bit sized at No. 64 wire gauge (0.0360 inches diameter) with a 130-degree split-point geometry and a bright, uncoated finish. Built from solid carbide throughout, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for small-hole work in hard and abrasive materials. The overall length is 1.5 inches, with a flute length of 0.400 inches and a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank. The fast spiral flute promotes chip evacuation in deep micro-hole applications. This bit is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision fabricators working with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines.
This drill bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling in cast iron, hardened steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, carbon steel, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, tool steel, and special alloys. Its solid carbide construction makes it particularly effective where high-speed steel tooling loses edge integrity due to heat or material hardness. Typical applications include precision hole-making in aerospace components, medical device parts, mold and die work, and general metalworking where tight diameter tolerances are required. The right-hand cutting direction and two-flute spiral configuration are standard for CNC and manual drilling operations.
Designed for use in standard 1/8-inch collets, drill chucks, and toolholders on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines. Compatible with workpiece materials including cast iron, hardened steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, carbon steel, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, tool steel, and special alloys. Coolant-through is not supported; external cutting fluid application is recommended for extended tool life.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine fully powered down and spindle at rest. Secure the 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized collet or drill chuck to minimize runout, which is critical at micro diameters. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and machine type. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification before use, as solid carbide micro drills are brittle and susceptible to chipping if dropped or improperly handled.
