The M.A. FORD. 30201560 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in tight-tolerance applications. It carries a 1/64 inch (0.0156 inch) diameter with a diameter tolerance of +0.0000 to -0.0005 inches, making it well suited for work where hole location and size accuracy are critical. The 130-degree drill point angle is optimized for harder and more demanding workpiece materials. At 1.5000 inches overall length with a 0.1900 inch flute length and a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank, this bit fits standard collets and chucks used on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision hand tools. It is sold individually and manufactured to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
This micro drill bit is intended for use in metalworking environments where small-diameter holes must be drilled cleanly and accurately. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, hardened steel, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, and steel. Secondary materials include alloy steel, aluminum, carbon steel, non-ferrous metals, special alloy, and tool steel. The fast spiral flute type promotes chip evacuation in these materials. It is typically installed and used by machinists, tool and die makers, and precision fabricators working in both production and job-shop settings.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision drilling equipment accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include cast iron, hardened steel, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, steel, alloy steel, aluminum, carbon steel, special alloy, and tool steel.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Secure the 1/8 inch shank firmly in a collet or chuck rated for the spindle speed required by the workpiece material before operation. Micro drill bits are fragile at this diameter — avoid side loading and use appropriate feed rates to prevent breakage. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and powered down before changing or inspecting tooling.
