The M.A. FORD 30012400A is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3.15 mm diameter (0.1240 inch decimal equivalent) with a 118-degree point angle, a fast spiral flute configuration, and a straight-cylindrical shank. The bit carries an ALtima coating for improved wear resistance and tool life. With an overall length of 38 mm and a 16 mm flute length, this is a compact, high-tolerance tool suited for close-tolerance hole-making. Installation and use are limited to qualified machinists and CNC operators working within proper speeds and feeds for carbide tooling.
This drill bit is built for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, and soft metals. It fits typical short-run precision work, prototype machining, and production drilling where tight diameter tolerances are required. The diameter tolerance of +0.000 to -0.013 mm makes it appropriate for applications where hole size consistency is critical. It is a modified standard item and is classified non-returnable and non-cancelable once ordered.
Designed for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metal, steel, and soft metal workpieces per M.A. FORD Series 300 specifications. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual drill presses equipped to hold a 3.15 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Carbide drill bits must be installed in a compatible collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before use. Power down and lock out all equipment before changing tooling. Use manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for carbide tooling in the target workpiece material to avoid chipping the cutting edge. This tool does not support coolant-through operation.
