The M.A. FORD 30009380 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit engineered for precision drilling in printed circuit board fabrication and related precision machining work. It features a 118-degree drill point angle and a fast spiral (35-degree helix) with a tapered web configuration that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup at the cutting zone. The bit measures 3/32 inches (0.0938 inches) in diameter with a matching 3/32-inch shank, a 5/8-inch flute length, and a 1-1/2-inch overall length. The right-hand cutting direction and two-flute geometry suit high-speed, small-diameter drilling applications. Solid carbide construction delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required when working repeatedly in tight-tolerance holes.
This drill bit is suited for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and steel. It fits production environments where circuit board drilling, small-hole metalworking, or precision fabrication operations demand consistent diameter tolerance held to -0.0005 to +0.0000 inches. The uncoated solid carbide construction is appropriate for dry or mist-cooled operations. It is typically used by machinists, PCB fabricators, and precision sheet metal shops running CNC or manual drill presses with high-speed spindles capable of handling small-diameter tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide circuit board drill for use in standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 3/32-inch straight shank; compatible with cast iron, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and steel workpieces per Series 300 Heavy-Duty specifications.
Installation and use of this tooling should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with small-diameter carbide drill handling. Secure the shank firmly in a precision collet or drill chuck rated for the intended spindle speed before operation. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be subjected to side-loading, interrupted cuts beyond its design rating, or impact that can cause chipping. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit at the first sign of edge wear to maintain hole-diameter accuracy.
