The M.A. FORD 2XDSR6102A is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It carries a 15.50 mm (0.6102 inch) diameter and features a 142-degree split point geometry with web thinning for reduced thrust and improved centering. The ALtima (AlTiN) coating provides heat and wear resistance critical when running at aggressive feed and speed parameters. With an overall length of 146.00 mm (5.748 inches) and a 82.00 mm (3.228 inch) flute length, this drill fits standard CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines that accept a 16 mm straight cylindrical shank. It is installed and operated by machinists and tool-room technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This drill is built for cutting steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys — workpiece material codes H, M, and S. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and two-flute regular spiral design support efficient chip evacuation in deep-hole applications up to 66.00 mm (2.598 inches) maximum drilling depth. The right-hand cutting direction and standard point type make it a direct-fit replacement in conventional CNC and manual drilling programs where a high-performance carbide drill is required in place of HSS tooling. Coolant-through capability is not included; external or flood coolant is recommended for optimal tool life in stainless and high-temp alloy applications.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloy applications (workpiece material codes H, M, S) in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines accepting a 16 mm straight shank. Part of the M.A. FORD Series 2XDSR high-performance carbide drill family.
This tool should be installed and operated by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the straight shank in a precision collet or chuck rated for the shank diameter before operation; never run carbide drills in worn or undersized holders. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Because coolant-through is not available on this drill, ensure adequate external or flood coolant delivery to prevent thermal shock and premature coating failure, particularly in stainless steel and high-temp alloy cuts.
