The M.A. FORD 2XDSR5512A is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built to Series 2XDSR standards, it features a 142-degree point angle optimized for accurate entry on hard and abrasive workpieces. The ALtima aluminum titanium nitride (AlTiN) proprietary coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in high-speed applications. At 14.00 mm in diameter with a 134.00 mm overall length and a 77.00 mm flute length, this drill is suited for precision machining operations where tool rigidity and cutting consistency are critical. It is typically installed by machinists and CNC operators working in metal fabrication, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments.
The 2XDSR5512A is engineered for drilling steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys - material groups classified under ISO workpiece codes H, M, and S. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 14.00 mm shank diameter. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry support chip evacuation in moderately deep holes. Maximum drilling depth is rated at 62.00 mm. This drill does not support coolant-through delivery and is intended for external coolant or dry cutting setups where appropriate.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloy workpieces (ISO material groups H, M, and S). Fits any drill chuck or collet holder accepting a 14.00 mm straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual drilling equipment configured for solid carbide tooling.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine fully powered down and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the chuck or collet is properly torqued before operation. This drill does not support coolant-through delivery - configure the machining setup for external flood coolant or appropriate dry-cutting conditions as required by the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use; carbide tooling is brittle and should not be subjected to lateral shock loads.
