The M.A. FORD 2XDSR4094A is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It features a 10.40 mm diameter, a 142-degree point angle, and an ALtima aluminum titanium nitride (ALTiN) coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in abrasive applications. The overall length is 120.00 mm (4.7244 inches) with a 60.00 mm flute length. The straight cylindrical shank measures 12 mm in diameter. This bit is engineered for use in CNC machining centers and manual drilling setups where consistent dimensional accuracy and long tool life are required. It is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This drill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys in both production and job-shop environments. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports moderate drilling depths up to 48.00 mm without parabolic flute geometry. Its right-hand cutting direction and regular spiral flute design make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. The ALtima proprietary coating addresses the elevated cutting temperatures common when drilling hardened steels and nickel-based alloys. It fits applications where tight hole tolerances are required, with a diameter tolerance of plus 0.000 to minus 0.018 mm.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production-grade drill for use in machining applications involving steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys, as identified by workpiece material codes H, M, and S. Part of the M.A. FORD Series 2XDSR family covering the 10.00 mm to 12.50 mm diameter range.
This drill bit is installed and operated by qualified machinists following standard toolroom and CNC setup practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before changing tooling. Confirm shank-to-collet or chuck clearance is appropriate for the 12 mm shank diameter before tightening. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool, so external coolant or cutting fluid should be applied according to the workpiece material and machine capability.
