The M.A. FORD 2XDSR0312A is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It measures 1/32 inch (0.0312 inch) in diameter with a 1-1/2 inch overall length and a 3/8 inch flute length. The 142-degree split-point geometry reduces thrust and improves centering on entry. An ALtima and Titanium Nitride (TiN) dual coating extends cutting life and reduces built-up edge when working hard or abrasive workpiece materials. Two right-hand spiral flutes with a regular helix provide efficient chip evacuation in shallow-depth applications. This bit is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision fabricators working on CNC equipment or manual drill presses.
This drill bit is rated for primary use in temperature alloys and titanium (ISO material codes H, M, and S), making it suited to aerospace, medical device, and precision machining applications where small-diameter holes in tough materials are required. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard collets and drill chucks sized for 1/32 inch tooling. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 0.28 inch maximum drilling depth define its effective working range in production environments. Coolant-through capability is not present on this model; flood or mist coolant applied externally is appropriate when drilling titanium or high-temperature alloys.

This tooling is installed and operated by qualified machinists familiar with small-diameter carbide drill requirements. Before mounting, ensure the spindle and chuck or collet are clean and free of runout that could fracture a bit of this diameter. Carbide is brittle at small diameters; avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without adequate support, or re-chucking at an angle. Apply external flood or mist coolant when drilling titanium or high-temperature alloys to manage heat and extend tool life.
