The M.A. FORD. 2XDCS2610A is a jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built from solid carbide and finished with an ALtima TiN coating, it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in tough applications. The bit features a 142-degree point angle optimized for self-centering on hard and exotic workpiece materials. With an overall length of 3.110 inches and a 0.2610-inch cutting diameter, it fits standard jobber-length drilling setups. Coolant-through design supports high-feed drilling cycles. Two spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently, reducing built-up edge in difficult alloys. Licensed machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators are the primary users.
This drill bit is rated for primary workpiece materials classified under codes H, M, and S, which correspond to hardened steels, stainless and heat-resistant alloys, and superalloys including titanium and nickel-based temp alloys. It is well suited for aerospace, defense, and energy sector component machining where tight tolerances and material integrity are non-negotiable. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.3125 inches (5/16 inch) seats in standard drill chucks and collet holders. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 1.339-inch flute length suit through-hole and blind-hole work up to a maximum drilling depth of 0.950 inches.
Designed for use in drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.3125-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for workpiece material codes H, M, and S covering hardened steels, stainless and heat-resistant steels, and superalloys. Part of the M.A. FORD. Series 2XDCS product family covering the 0.2500 to 0.3000-inch diameter range.
Machining professionals should verify chuck or collet runout before installing solid carbide tooling, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading from misaligned holders. Ensure coolant lines are clear and flow is confirmed before beginning a drilling cycle when using the through-coolant feature. Do not use this bit in handheld drill applications; it is intended for rigid CNC or manual machine tool spindles only. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut.
