The M.A. FORD 2XDCS2126A is a solid carbide jobber drill engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It carries a 5.40 mm (0.2126 inch) diameter, a 142-degree point angle optimized for hard and abrasive workpieces, and an ALtima plus Titanium Nitride (TiN) dual coating that extends tool life under thermal and abrasive load. Overall length is 66.00 mm (2.5984 inches) with a 28.00 mm (1.1024 inch) flute length. Coolant-through design supports high-speed machining cycles. This drill is intended for use by machinists and toolroom professionals in CNC and manual drilling operations on challenging alloy families.
This drill is rated for primary workpiece material codes H, M, and S, covering hardened steels, stainless steels, and superalloys including titanium and nickel-based temperature alloys. Its 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry are well-suited to close-tolerance hole production in aerospace, medical device, and precision manufacturing environments. The straight-cylindrical shank at 6.00 mm (0.2362 inch) diameter fits standard collets and drill chucks. Maximum drilling depth is 20.00 mm. The drill conforms to DIN 6537K geometry and is produced under ISO 9001:2015 certified quality standards.
Designed for use in Series 2XDCS tooling programs targeting materials in workpiece categories H, M, and S per standard material classification. Fits machine spindles and toolholders accepting a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Drill bit diameter falls within the 5.00 mm to 6.00 mm (0.2000 to 0.2500 inch) size range of the 2XDCS series.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and collet or chuck are clean and within tolerance before seating the shank, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to runout. Activate coolant-through supply before engaging the cut to prevent thermal shock to the carbide substrate. Do not use this drill in handheld or non-rigid setups.
