The M.A. FORD 2XDCS2047A is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding applications. It carries a 5.20 mm (0.2047 inch) diameter, a 142-degree split-point geometry, and an ALtima plus Titanium Nitride (TiN) dual coating that extends tool life in abrasive and work-hardening materials. The overall length is 66.00 mm (2.5984 inches) with a 28.00 mm (1.1024 inch) flute length, giving a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio suited for controlled chip evacuation. It features a right-hand spiral flute, regular spiral type, and a straight-cylindrical shank with a 6.00 mm (0.2362 inch) shank diameter. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tooling specialists working in CNC or manual machining environments.
This drill is rated for primary workpiece materials classified under ISO material groups H, M, and S, which correspond to hardened steels, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys including titanium and nickel-based superalloys. The coolant-through design allows cutting fluid to be delivered directly to the cutting edge, making it especially effective in aerospace, medical device, and precision manufacturing operations where heat management is critical. The 142-degree point angle reduces thrust force and improves centering on entry, reducing the need for a pilot hole in many setups. Maximum drilling depth is rated at 20.00 mm (0.7874 inches).
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped with toolholders accepting a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suited for drilling temperature alloys, hardened steels, and stainless steels per ISO material groups H, M, and S. Part of the M.A. FORD Series 2XDCS, covering the 5.00 mm to 6.00 mm diameter range (0.2000 to 0.2500 inch).
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank fully in a collet or drill chuck to the correct clamping depth before operation. Verify that coolant-through supply is active and at adequate pressure before engaging cut, as running the tool dry in temperature alloys can cause premature coating failure. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping or wear before each use and replace when diameter tolerance cannot be maintained.
