The M.A. FORD. 2XDCR3150A is a jobber length, solid carbide drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in difficult-to-machine materials. It measures 8 mm (0.3150 inches) in diameter with a 142-degree split-point tip geometry, a 91 mm (3.58 inches) overall length, and a 48 mm (1.89 inches) flute length. The ALtima Titanium Nitride coating reduces heat buildup and extends tool life in demanding applications. A straight-cylindrical shank and right-hand spiral flute design deliver consistent chip evacuation. This bit is built to DIN 6537 K standards and manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 certification, making it a reliable choice for production and maintenance shops alike.
This drill bit is designed for machining temperature-resistant alloys, stainless steels, and high-strength materials classified under workpiece material codes H, M, and S. It performs well in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses where coolant-through capability is required. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral geometry make it well suited for through-hole and blind-hole drilling applications in aerospace, energy, and industrial manufacturing environments. A maximum drilling depth of 38 mm (1.50 inches) applies under standard operating conditions.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and compatible tool holders accepting an 8 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material codes H, M, and S indicate suitability for hardened steels, stainless steels, and temperature-resistant alloys as specified in the manufacturer data.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Ensure the spindle and tool holder are free of debris and that the shank is fully seated and clamped before operation. Activate coolant-through flow before drilling to maintain proper chip clearance and prevent thermal cracking of the carbide substrate. Do not use this bit without appropriate speeds and feeds for the workpiece material, as incorrect parameters will cause premature edge failure.
