The M.A. FORD. 2XDCL2953A is a taper length drill bit engineered for precision drilling in demanding industrial and metalworking applications. Manufactured from solid carbide and carrying a coated finish, this bit features a 142-degree split point that reduces walking and minimizes thrust force on entry. The straight shank measures 8.00 mm in diameter and the overall length is 118.00 mm, with a 70.00 mm flute length supporting a 7xD depth-to-diameter ratio. Coolant-through capability makes it well suited for high-production environments where heat management is critical. Right-hand spiral fluting with a regular spiral type ensures efficient chip evacuation throughout the cut.
This drill bit is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine operations where taper length geometry provides additional rigidity over jobber-length tooling. It is designed for drilling cast iron, titanium, carbon steel, steel, and tool steel. The 7xD flute length allows drilling to a maximum depth of 56.00 mm. It is appropriate for machine shops, tool rooms, aerospace fabrication, and general metal fabrication environments where tight tolerance work is required. The diameter tolerance of +0.000 to -0.015 mm supports close-fit hole applications.
Designed for use in materials including cast iron, titanium, carbon steel, steel, and tool steel. Fits standard straight-shank tool holders and chucks accepting an 8.00 mm shank diameter. Part of the M.A. FORD. 2XDCL series of taper length carbide drill bits.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with CNC and manual machine tool operation. Ensure the machine spindle and tool holder are clean and properly torqued before seating the shank. Verify coolant-through lines are clear and delivering adequate flow before drilling titanium or hardened steels. Never exceed the recommended maximum drilling depth of 56.00 mm for this bit geometry.
