The M.A. FORD 2XDCL2047A is a taper length drill bit built from solid carbide and coated with titanium nitride (TiN) for extended tool life in demanding production environments. It measures 5.2 mm in diameter (0.2047 inches) and carries a 142-degree drill point angle optimized for clean entry on hard and abrasive materials. The overall length is 100 mm with a 51 mm flute length and a 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio that supports deeper hole depths without sacrificing rigidity. Coolant-through capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone, reducing heat buildup and improving chip evacuation. This bit is designed for use by machinists and tooling professionals in precision drilling applications.
This bit is suited for drilling cast iron, titanium, carbon steel, steel, and tool steel in both job shop and production line settings. The straight cylindrical shank with a 6.00 mm diameter fits standard drill chucks and collet systems without modification. A maximum drilling depth of 41 mm makes it appropriate for through-hole and moderate-depth blind-hole work in structural and precision machined components. It cuts right-hand with a regular spiral flute pattern, which is the standard configuration for most CNC and manual drilling setups.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual drilling equipment capable of accepting a straight cylindrical shank. Rated for cast iron, titanium, carbon steel, steel, and tool steel workpiece materials.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per standard lockout/tagout procedures. Verify collet or chuck bore matches the 6.00 mm shank diameter before seating the bit. When using coolant-through capability, confirm that the machine spindle and toolholder are equipped to deliver internal coolant at the appropriate pressure. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, as solid carbide tools can fracture if run in damaged condition.
