The M.A. FORD 2XDCL1850A is a solid carbide taper length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to Series 2XDCL specifications, it features a 142-degree split point, a 4.7 mm (0.1850 inch) diameter, and a coated finish that extends tool life under heavy-cycle conditions. The 7xD flute-length-to-diameter ratio supports deeper hole penetration while maintaining chip evacuation efficiency. Coolant-through design delivers cutting fluid directly to the tip, reducing heat buildup and improving tool life in difficult materials. Machining professionals and CNC operators installing this bit will find the straight shank compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron, titanium, carbon steel, steel, and tool steel. The 45 mm spiral flute and 100 mm overall length make it well suited for taper length drilling operations where standard jobber bits fall short. A maximum drilling depth of 36 mm and a right-hand cutting direction align with conventional CNC machining center and manual drill press setups. The 5 mm straight shank fits common toolholding systems without adapters in most shop environments.
Designed for use with cast iron, titanium, carbon steel, steel, and tool steel workpieces. The 5 mm straight shank fits standard drill chucks and collet-style toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized collet or drill chuck before operation. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 36 mm without retracting to clear chips. Verify coolant-through supply lines are connected and flowing before engaging the spindle in coolant-through mode.
