The M.A. FORD 27875014B is a 5-flute corner radius end mill head engineered for high-performance milling applications. Constructed from solid carbide, this replacement-style cutting head delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required for demanding material removal. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. A spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and consistent surface finish. Variable index spacing between flutes helps reduce harmonic vibration during cuts, making this head suitable for both roughing and finishing passes at elevated feed rates.
This end mill head is designed for use in machining environments where a replaceable head system is preferred over a solid one-piece end mill. A 1.5-inch length of cut makes it well suited for moderate-depth slotting, profiling, and contouring operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The corner radius end type provides edge strength at the cutting tip, reducing chipping in interrupted cuts or harder workpiece materials. Machinists and tool crib personnel in job shops, aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing facilities are the primary installers and users.
Designed as a replacement end mill head for compatible M.A. FORD modular tooling systems that accept this head style and diameter configuration. Verify interface specifications against your specific toolholder before ordering.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician following the toolholder manufacturer's assembly procedure. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing cutting heads. Use the appropriate torque wrench and head-engagement tool as specified by the toolholder system — do not use improvised methods to seat or remove the head. Inspect the mating threads and seating surfaces for debris or damage before assembly.
