The M.A. FORD. 277L7502B is a solid carbide corner radius end mill head designed for high-performance milling operations. Built with 4 helical flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, this end mill head features both a variable index and variable helix geometry, with helix angles ranging from 38 to 41 degrees. The variable helix design reduces harmonic vibration during cutting, which helps maintain surface finish quality and extends tool life in demanding applications. It is suited for use in CNC machining centers and is typically installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in precision metal removal operations.
This corner radius end mill head is appropriate for use in both production and job-shop environments where a replaceable-head milling system is in use. The corner radius end type reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, making it well suited for side milling, slotting, and finishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The solid carbide construction provides the rigidity and wear resistance needed for high-speed, high-feed machining strategies. At 5 inches in overall length and 0.79 inches in both height and width, this head fits compact to mid-size toolholder assemblies used in vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement head for modular corner radius end mill toolholder systems accepting heads of 0.79 inch diameter. Confirm toolholder interface compatibility before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is locked out before removing or installing any end mill head. Use the appropriate torque wrench and interface key specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the head — do not over-tighten by hand. Inspect the mating threads and seating surfaces for chips or debris before assembly to prevent runout.
