The M.A. FORD 277L3750B is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding machining applications. With a 3/8-inch diameter and a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, this four-flute tool delivers clean, precise material removal in a long-series configuration. The AlCrN (aluminum chromium nitride) coating provides elevated heat resistance and wear protection, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. The variable helix geometry — combining 38-degree and 41-degree helix angles — reduces harmonic vibration and chatter during cutting, improving surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Micrograin carbide construction adds rigidity and edge retention across the full cutting zone.
This end mill is suited for CNC milling operations in job shop, aerospace, die-and-mold, and general metalworking environments. The long series design makes it appropriate for applications requiring deeper reach or where standard-length tools cannot access the full feature depth. It is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool installed in standard collet chucks, end mill holders, or hydraulic toolholders on vertical or horizontal machining centers. Machinists and CNC programmers selecting tooling for profiling, slotting, and finishing passes in steel, stainless, and similar alloys will find this configuration well-suited to those operations.
Designed as a replacement-style solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 3/8-inch bore end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders used on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool-change position is engaged before handling or inserting the cutter. Confirm proper tool projection and runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Follow machine tool manufacturer torque specifications for the toolholder being used, and never exceed the maximum RPM rating for the tool diameter and coating specified on the manufacturer data sheet.
