The M.A. FORD. 27250100 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.501 inches and a diameter tolerance of +0.0001/+0.0004 inches, this tool delivers consistent, tight-tolerance bores in a single pass. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction make it well-suited for through-hole reaming in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this reamer in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes where hole accuracy is critical.
This chucking reamer is applied in production and job-shop environments where final hole sizing must meet close dimensional tolerances. The straight shank mounts directly into standard drill chucks or collet holders without adapters. With an overall length of 4 inches and a flute length of 1.5 inches, it is suited for shallow-to-moderate depth finishing operations. The uncoated solid carbide construction performs in dry cutting or with flood coolant, though this tool does not include a coolant-through channel. Typical applications include fixture plates, bearing bores, and precision alignment holes in steel, cast iron, and aluminum workpieces.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in standard drill chucks and collet-style toolholders on CNC machining centers, manual mills, drill presses, and lathes accepting a straight-shank reamer.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists familiar with reaming operations and machine tool setup. Secure the straight shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before cutting. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before changing or adjusting tooling. Do not use this reamer as a drill; the workpiece hole should be pre-drilled to the appropriate undersize before reaming.
