The M.A. FORD. 27226600 is a solid carbide chucking reamer sized to Letter H (0.2660 inches diameter) for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. It features a straight flute geometry with a right-hand cutting direction and an uncoated solid carbide body, delivering accurate, repeatable bore sizing to a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches. The straight shank is compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders. With an overall length of 3.25 inches and a flute length of 1.125 inches, this 6-flute reamer is designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills where close-tolerance hole sizing is required.
This reamer is suited for production and maintenance machining environments where Letter H sized bores are needed in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The solid carbide construction offers superior hardness and wear resistance compared to high-speed steel, making it appropriate for harder workpiece materials and higher-volume runs. It belongs to M.A. FORD. Series 272 and is sold individually. Typical users include machinists, toolroom technicians, and precision manufacturing shops.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in standard drill chucks, ER collet holders, and similar straight-shank toolholding systems on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills requiring a Letter H (0.2660 inch) bore size.
Chucking reamers should be installed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with precision hole-finishing practices. Always ensure the machine spindle and workpiece are secure and the machine is at a complete stop before changing tooling. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to maximize tool life and surface finish quality. Do not use a reamer to remove excessive stock — pre-drill or bore to within 0.005 to 0.015 inches of final diameter before reaming.
