The M.A. FORD 27225000 is a solid carbide chucking reamer sized to Letter E (0.2500 inches), designed for precision hole finishing in machine shop and production environments. With a 3-inch overall length and a 1-inch straight flute, this reamer delivers tight diameter tolerances of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches, making it suitable for close-tolerance bore work where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are critical. The four-flute, right-hand cutting geometry provides stable material removal in a variety of workpiece materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this reamer in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and lathes using a standard straight-shank chuck setup.
This reamer is suited for precision reaming operations in production machining, tool rooms, and job shops. The uncoated solid carbide construction handles ferrous and non-ferrous materials where dimensional repeatability is required. The straight shank allows direct mounting in collet chucks, drill chucks, and machine tool spindles without additional adapters. It is appropriate for residential tooling shops as well as commercial and industrial manufacturing environments requiring repeatable, close-tolerance hole sizing.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for use in standard straight-shank machine tool spindles, collet chucks, and drill chucks on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and lathes requiring a 0.2500-inch finished bore diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists using appropriate chuck or collet tooling rated for the machine spindle speed and feed rate of the operation. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are fully secured before engaging the reamer. Apply cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain bore finish quality. Do not use this reamer as a primary hole-opening tool — it is designed for finishing passes on pre-drilled or bored holes at or near final diameter.
