The M.A. FORD 27222100 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.2210 inches and a tight tolerance of +0.0001/+0.0003 inches, this tool delivers consistent, accurate bore sizing in a single pass. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction make it well suited for through-hole and shallow blind-hole reaming. At 3.0 inches overall length with a 1-inch flute length, it fits standard drill press and CNC machining center setups. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this uncoated carbide construction for its rigidity and edge retention in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This reamer is intended for precision bore finishing in machine shop environments, including production machining, toolroom work, and fixture building. The wire gauge No. 2 designation (0.2210 inches) targets hole sizes in the 0.2000 to 0.2499 inch range. The straight shank allows direct chucking in collet chucks, drill chucks, or floating reamer holders on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turret lathes. It is sold individually and is appropriate for shops requiring close-tolerance hole finishing without the need for coolant-through capability.
Designed as an OEM-style precision reamer for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and turret lathes accepting straight-shank tooling in the 0.2000 to 0.2499 inch diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with reaming operations and machine tool safety procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the tool from the chuck or collet. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the chuck or collet is tightened to the tool holder manufacturer's specification before operation. Do not use this reamer as a drill — it is designed for finishing pre-drilled or bored holes only.
