The M.A. FORD. 27219290 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machining applications. With a 4.90mm (0.1929 inch) reamer diameter and a bright, uncoated finish, this tool delivers tight dimensional accuracy with a diameter tolerance of +0.005 to +0.010mm over nominal. The overall length is 76.00mm (3.00 inches) with a 25.50mm (approximately 1 inch) flute length. Four straight flutes with right-hand cutting direction provide clean, consistent material removal. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this type of reamer for bringing pre-drilled or bored holes to final size with high surface finish quality.
This chucking reamer is suited for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses where a straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard chucks or collet holders. It falls within the 4.00mm to 5.00mm reamer diameter range and is part of M.A. FORD. Series 272. The solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for harder workpiece materials, including cast iron, hardened steel, and non-ferrous alloys, where high-speed steel tooling may wear prematurely. Coolant-through capability is not included in this design.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use chucking reamer for machining setups requiring a 4.00mm to 5.00mm diameter straight-flute solid carbide reamer with a straight-cylindrical shank.
This reamer is installed and operated by machinists in machine shop environments. Before mounting, ensure the spindle or chuck is fully powered down and locked out per facility safety procedures. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a compatible chuck or collet to the appropriate holding torque per the machine manufacturer's specifications. Verify correct spindle speed and feed rate for the workpiece material before operation, and confirm the pre-drilled hole is within acceptable stock allowance for reaming.
