The M.A. FORD. 27215751 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.1575 inches and a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches, this tool delivers accurate, consistent bore sizing in a single pass. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cut make it suitable for through-hole and blind-hole finishing in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 0.75-inch flute length, the 27215751 fits standard drill press chucks and CNC tool holders with a straight shank interface. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool and die makers, and precision fabrication tradespeople.
The 27215751 is used in precision machining environments where bore finish and dimensional accuracy are critical. Its 4-flute configuration and uncoated solid carbide construction make it a strong choice for short-run and production reaming in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and fabrication operations. The straight shank allows direct chucking in standard drill presses, lathes, and machining centers. No coolant-through feature is present, so flood or mist cooling should be applied externally during use when cutting speed and material hardness demand it.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for use in standard straight-shank tool holders across drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers requiring a 0.1575-inch finished bore diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Secure the straight shank firmly in a precision drill chuck or collet before operation, and verify runout with a dial indicator when bore tolerance is critical. Disengage all power and bring the spindle to a full stop before changing or inspecting the reamer. Apply external flood or mist coolant as required by material and cutting speed; no internal coolant path is present on this tool.
