The M.A. FORD. 27209600T is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machine shop and production environments. Built to wire size 41 (0.0960 inches), this reamer holds a diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches, making it suitable for tight-tolerance bore work. The tool features a straight-cylindrical shank for standard chuck mounting, four straight flutes with a right-hand cutting direction, and a titanium nitride (TiN) coating to extend tool life. Overall length is 2 inches with a flute length of 0.5 inches. Machinists and toolroom technicians use this reamer as a finishing pass after drilling to achieve accurate, smooth bore diameters in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This reamer is suited for precision reaming operations on CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses where a straight-shank tool is required. The 0.0960-inch diameter targets small-bore applications common in aerospace, mold and die, and general precision machining. The TiN coating reduces friction and heat buildup during the cut, extending tool life in production runs. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant applied externally is recommended for best results. This tool is classified as a modified standard item and is non-returnable and non-cancelable once ordered.
Designed as a precision chucking reamer for use in any machine tool accepting a straight-cylindrical shank, including CNC machining centers, knee mills, and drill presses. Fits standard drill chucks and collet systems sized to accommodate a 0.0960-inch shank diameter.
Chucking reamers are installed and removed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the straight shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet before operation and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Power down the machine spindle completely before changing or adjusting the tool. Do not use this reamer to remove excessive stock; drilling to within a few thousandths of final diameter before reaming produces the best bore finish and longest tool life.
