The M.A. FORD. 27209600 is a solid carbide chucking reamer in No. 41 wire size, delivering a finished bore diameter of 0.0960 inches. Built on the Series 272 platform, it features four straight flutes with a right-hand cutting direction and an uncoated carbide body for precise dimensional control in small-diameter hole finishing. The overall length is 2 inches with a flute length of 0.5 inches. A straight shank makes it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians use this reamer when tight bore tolerances are required in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This reamer is suited for precision hole finishing operations in machining centers, CNC lathes, and manual drill presses where a No. 41 wire-size bore is required. The straight-flute geometry makes it well suited for through-holes and short blind holes in materials that do not require chip-breaking action. Typical applications include fixture work, jig boring, and tight-tolerance component production in job shops and production machining environments. Coolant-through capability is not included, so conventional flood or mist coolant delivery is used during operation.
Designed as an OEM-style precision reamer for use in any standard drill chuck or collet system accepting a straight shank in the corresponding diameter range; no specific model compatibility data was provided in the product input.
This tool should be installed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Before mounting, verify the spindle and chuck are fully de-energized and at a complete stop. Secure the straight shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet holder to minimize runout, which is critical at this diameter. Do not use this reamer as a drill or attempt to remove stock beyond the rated reaming allowance, as solid carbide tools are brittle and susceptible to breakage under lateral loading.
