The M.A. FORD. 27208150 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed to finish-ream precision bores to tight tolerances in metalworking applications. Built to Series 272 specifications, it produces a right-hand cutting action with 4 straight flutes and holds a reamer diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches over nominal. The 0.0815-inch cutting diameter and 2-inch overall length make this a compact, small-bore tool suited for close-tolerance hole finishing on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual lathes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this reamer where hole geometry and surface finish must meet precise fit requirements.
This reamer is intended for small-bore finishing work in the 0.0500 to 0.0999-inch diameter range. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard chucks or collet holders without adaptation. The bright, uncoated carbide surface is appropriate for a wide range of workpiece materials where coating is not required. It is a single-piece, solid carbide construction, eliminating the flex and runout risk associated with brazed or inserted-tip designs. Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for use in standard drill press chucks, CNC machining center collets, and lathe tailstock chuck setups that accept straight-cylindrical shank tooling in the small-bore diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with reaming feeds, speeds, and fixturing for carbide tooling. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before mounting or removing the reamer from the chuck or collet. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank with adequate gripping depth to prevent pullout under cutting load. Do not use this reamer as a drill; always pre-drill or bore the hole to within the recommended stock allowance before reaming.
