The M.A. FORD. 27207950 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance machining applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.0795 inches and a diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches, this tool delivers consistent, repeatable bore sizing in hard and abrasive workpiece materials. The 4-flute straight configuration with right-hand cutting direction provides smooth chip evacuation and stable cutting action. Overall length is 1.75 inches with a flute length of 0.5 inches. The bright, uncoated carbide surface is suited for use where coating buildup is a concern or where lubricity is managed externally. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this reamer in standard drill press chucks or CNC spindles via its straight-cylindrical shank.
This reamer is intended for small-diameter precision bore finishing in metalworking environments, including production machining, toolroom operations, and maintenance shops. Its 0.0795-inch diameter places it in the Series 272 small-bore range (0.0500 to 0.0999 inches decimal inch range). It is appropriate for finishing drilled or bored holes to close tolerance in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable materials. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant applied externally at the cutting zone is recommended for best tool life in production use.
Designed as an OEM-style precision reamer for use with standard straight-shank collet chucks, drill chucks, and floating reamer holders in drill press, turret lathe, or CNC machining center setups requiring a 0.0795-inch finished bore diameter.
Chucking reamers should be installed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom safety practices. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped in the chuck or collet before operation. Do not use a reamer to remove excessive material - pre-drill or bore the hole to within a few thousandths of finished size before reaming to maintain tolerance and tool life.
