The M.A. FORD 27206500 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance machining applications. With a 0.0650-inch diameter and a diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches, this reamer is built for close-tolerance work where hole size consistency is critical. The 4-flute, right-hand cutting geometry with straight flutes delivers smooth material removal and reliable surface finish. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks or collet holders. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 3/8-inch flute length, this is a compact reamer suited for small-diameter precision work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This reamer is used in machine shop and production environments where small-bore hole sizing is required. Typical applications include finishing drilled or bored holes to precise diameter in jig and fixture components, hydraulic valve bodies, and similar tight-tolerance machined parts. It is installed in CNC machining centers, drill presses, or manual mills using a collet or drill chuck setup. The bright uncoated finish makes it appropriate for general-purpose reaming where coating is not required. This is a Series 272 tool from M.A. FORD.
Designed as a Series 272 solid carbide chucking reamer for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines equipped with standard collet or drill chuck toolholding systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of this reamer should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with precision reaming procedures. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of runout before seating the shank. Power down the machine completely before changing or setting tooling. Do not use this reamer to remove excessive stock — pre-drill or bore the hole to near-final size before reaming to maintain tolerance and extend tool life.
