The M.A. FORD 27205900 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in close-tolerance machining applications. With a 1.5 mm (0.0590 inch) cutting diameter, the reamer delivers a diameter tolerance of +0.004/+0.008 mm, making it suited for holes that require tight dimensional control. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction provide clean, consistent material removal. The straight shank allows direct chuck mounting on standard machine tooling. This reamer is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals working on CNC machining centers, drill presses, or similar equipment requiring repeatable bore finishing.
This chucking reamer is well suited for small-diameter hole finishing in metalworking and precision manufacturing environments. The 1.5 mm diameter places it in light tooling applications such as instrument components, electronic hardware, aerospace detail parts, and other work requiring accurate bore sizing in the 1.00 to 2.00 mm diameter range. Its 1-1/2 inch overall length and 3/8 inch flute length make it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth reaming passes in production or job-shop settings. No coolant-through capability is present, so external flood or mist cooling is the standard approach during use.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer in the M.A. FORD Series 272 product line, suitable for use in any standard chuck or collet holder accommodating a straight-shank tool in the 1.00 to 2.00 mm reamer diameter range.
This reamer should be installed by a qualified machinist familiar with small-diameter tooling. Secure the straight shank firmly in a precision drill chuck or collet to minimize runout before use. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting tooling. Avoid forcing the reamer into undersized or undrilled holes — pre-drill or bore to the recommended pilot diameter before reaming to prevent tool breakage.
