The M.A. FORD. 27204330 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. With a 1.10mm reaming diameter and a 4-flute, straight-flute geometry, it delivers consistent, accurate bores in small-diameter work. The reamer features a straight-cylindrical shank for secure chuck holding and a bright, uncoated finish suited to a range of workpiece materials. Overall length is 38.00mm with a 9.50mm flute length. Diameter tolerance is held to +0.004 to +0.008mm over nominal, making it appropriate for close-tolerance finish reaming. This tool is part of the M.A. FORD. Series 272 line and is intended for use by machinists, toolroom technicians, and precision fabricators.
This reamer is suited to light-duty precision reaming in small bores, particularly where tight diameter tolerances are required in production or toolroom environments. Typical applications include finishing drilled or bored holes in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The straight flute design is appropriate for through-holes and shorter blind-hole passes. Cutting direction is right hand, with left-hand spiral to help clear chips back toward the entry point. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended for best surface finish and tool life.

This tool should be installed and operated by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with small-diameter reaming procedures. Secure the shank fully in a precision chuck or collet before operation, and verify runout with a dial indicator before committing to finish cuts. Spindle speed and feed rate should be set per established reaming guidelines for the workpiece material — excessive speed or feed can damage the carbide flutes or close the bore beyond tolerance. Apply cutting fluid externally throughout the reaming pass to manage heat and chip evacuation.
