The M.A. FORD. 27204100 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed to produce accurate, finished-diameter holes in precision machining applications. Built to wire gauge size No. 59, it cuts to a decimal diameter of 0.0410 inches with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches, making it suitable for close-tolerance bore finishing. The four-flute, straight-flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction deliver smooth material removal on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The straight shank allows direct mounting in standard chucks, collets, or floating holders. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this reamer for finish-reaming small-diameter holes where dimensional accuracy is critical.
This reamer is sized for small-bore work in the 0 to 0.0499 inch diameter range, covering applications such as instrument components, precision fixtures, and small mechanical assemblies. The 1.5-inch overall length and 0.375-inch flute length suit shallow-hole finishing operations on manual mills, CNC machining centers, and drill presses. The uncoated solid carbide construction holds up in dry cutting or light-lubricant environments where dimensional repeatability is the primary requirement. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as an OEM-style finish reamer for small-diameter bore applications in the 0 to 0.0499 inch decimal inch range, compatible with standard straight-shank chuck and collet toolholding systems on manual and CNC machine tools.
Installation and use of this reamer should be performed by qualified machinists following standard shop practices. Secure the straight shank firmly in a matched chuck or collet before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable limits to maintain bore tolerance. Apply appropriate cutting fluid or follow dry-cutting guidelines per the workpiece material. Do not exceed recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material, as solid carbide tooling is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading or interrupted cuts.
