The M.A. FORD 27203740 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed to finish-ream precision holes to tight tolerances in a wide range of metalworking applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.95 mm (0.0374 inches) and an overall length of 38.00 mm (1.5 inches), this is a micro-size tool built for close-tolerance bore finishing. The 4-flute, straight-flute geometry with right-hand cutting direction produces clean, consistent hole walls. The bright, uncoated finish suits general-purpose use across a variety of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and precision toolroom technicians are the primary users of this tool.
This reamer is suited for precision hole finishing on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills where tight diameter tolerances are required on small bores. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into a collet chuck or drill chuck. The 6.50 mm flute length provides adequate chip relief for shallow through-holes and short blind-hole applications. Series 272 from M.A. FORD targets sub-millimeter and small-diameter reaming requirements in industries such as aerospace, medical device manufacturing, and precision instrument fabrication.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for use in standard collet chucks and drill chucks compatible with a straight-cylindrical shank at this micro diameter range.
A licensed machinist or toolroom technician should install and operate this tool. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the collet or chuck is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Use appropriate cutting fluid recommendations for the workpiece material, as this reamer has no coolant-through capability. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine tool operating procedures when working with micro-diameter carbide tooling, as solid carbide is brittle and susceptible to breakage under side loading or improper feed rates.
