Sized at wire gauge 68 (0.0310 inches decimal diameter), this reamer is built for tight-tolerance work where hole quality and dimensional accuracy are critical. The four-flute, straight-flute geometry delivers smooth, controlled material removal on through-holes and blind holes in small-diameter applications. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 0.25-inch flute length, this is a compact tool suited for short-reach reaming operations. A licensed machinist or toolroom technician is the typical end user.
This chucking reamer fits production and job-shop CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses where wire-gauge-size holes require finish reaming to tolerance. The straight shank allows direct mounting in standard precision chucks, collets, or floating reamer holders. Ensure the spindle and workpiece fixture are fully secured and the machine is at a safe, controlled speed appropriate for carbide reaming before starting the cut. Do not use this tool for drilling or use feed rates beyond what the workpiece material and hole condition support, as carbide tools are brittle and can fracture under side load or shock.
