The M.A. FORD 27202920 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance machining applications. Built to wire gauge size 69, it produces a nominal bore diameter of 0.0292 inches with a diametral tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches, making it suitable for work where hole size consistency is critical. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction deliver clean material removal in through-hole and blind-hole configurations. With a 1.5-inch overall length and a 0.25-inch flute length, this reamer is engineered for short-reach, small-diameter finishing work. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this reamer in standard drill chucks or collets on manual and CNC machines.
This reamer is used in metalworking, moldmaking, and precision manufacturing environments where small-diameter holes require a consistent, finished bore. The 0.0292-inch diameter and four-flute straight configuration make it well-suited for finishing drilled holes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a chucking reamer is the appropriate tool. It is sold and packaged individually, making it practical for both production and maintenance tooling inventories. No coolant-through capability is incorporated, so flood or mist coolant delivery at the spindle is the typical approach during use.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems that accept straight-shank tooling sized for wire gauge diameter ranges below 0.0499 inches.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with precision reaming practices. Secure the straight shank in a drill chuck or collet with adequate gripping length before initiating the cut, and verify runout with an indicator before production use. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing or inspecting tooling. At this diameter, solid carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to breakage from side loads or misalignment, so axial alignment with the pre-drilled hole is essential.
