The M.A. FORD. 27202100 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed to finish-ream precision holes to wire gauge size 75, producing a final bore diameter of 0.0210 inches. Built with four straight flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, it delivers consistent, accurate hole finishing in hardened and difficult-to-machine materials. The straight shank allows direct mounting in standard drill chucks or collets. With an overall length of 1.5 inches and a flute length of 0.25 inches, this compact reamer is suited for short, tight-tolerance work where dimensional accuracy is critical. It carries a reamer diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches, meeting the close-fit requirements common in precision machining, toolroom, and instrument manufacturing environments.
This chucking reamer is used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes where finish reaming of very small-diameter holes is required. It is well suited for precision instrument components, small hydraulic or pneumatic bodies, and any application requiring repeatable, tight-tolerance hole sizing in the 0 to 0.0499 inch diameter range. Machinists and toolroom technicians working with carbide-preferred materials will find this reamer appropriate for both production and prototype runs.
Designed as an OEM-style precision chucking reamer for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a straight-shank tool in the applicable shank diameter range.
Installation and use of this reamer should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with precision hole finishing operations. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the spindle is brought to the recommended speed for solid carbide tooling before engaging the reamer. Apply appropriate cutting fluid to extend tool life and maintain bore quality. Do not force the reamer through an undersized pilot hole — verify the pre-drilled hole is within the accepted stock-removal range before reaming.
