The M.A. FORD 22955120 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. Measuring 14 mm in diameter with a 150-degree drill point angle, the bit delivers aggressive cutting geometry suited for production and maintenance machining environments. The parabolic flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation, reducing heat buildup during extended cuts. With an overall length of 124 mm and a flute length of 77 mm, it fits standard drill chucks and machining centers. This bit is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and CNC operators.
This drill bit is intended for use on non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials designated under workpiece material code N and O. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and web-thinned, tapered web configuration support clean entry and consistent hole quality in both manual drill press and CNC machining center applications. The straight-cylindrical shank accommodates standard chuck systems without adapters. It conforms to DIN 6537L geometry and is manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 certified processes, making it suitable for shops with documented quality standards.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or direct-use carbide drill bit for standard drill chucks and CNC machining centers accepting a 14 mm straight-cylindrical shank, within the Series 229 product family covering the 12.50 mm to 15.00 mm diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling procedures. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized chuck or collet before operation to prevent runout. Carbide tooling is brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid impact loading, interrupted cuts beyond the tool rating, or side loading that can cause chipping or fracture. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material before beginning the cut.
